What if the worlds you’ve spent hundreds of hours inside — the mech hangars, the grimdark battlefields, the endless dungeons — got the prestige-animation treatment? That’s the bet behind Secret Level, Prime Video’s adult animated anthology from Deadpool director Tim Miller and Blur Studio. Fifteen episodes, fifteen legendary video games, one star-studded voice cast — and the biggest debut ever for a new animated series on Prime Video.
Secret Level — Official Trailer
The concept
From the creative minds behind Love, Death + Robots, Secret Level is exactly what it sounds like: a hidden level of storytelling inside the games you love. Each of the 15 episodes is a standalone short film — most run just 10 to 20 minutes — set in the universe of a different game, each with its own animation style, tone, and story. Bite-sized, bingeable, and wildly varied: one episode is grim military sci-fi, the next is a surreal arcade nightmare.
The series premiered December 10, 2024, with eight episodes, followed by the remaining seven on December 17 — and it immediately became Prime Video’s largest debut for a new animated series.
All 15 episodes and their games

A voice cast that reads like a movie poster
Arnold Schwarzenegger. Keanu Reeves. Kevin Hart. Temuera Morrison. Ariana Greenblatt. Gabriel Luna. Laura Bailey. Claudia Doumit. The cast list is absurd — a deliberate flex that tells you exactly how seriously Amazon took this. Reeves voices the mech pilot in the Armored Core episode; Schwarzenegger plays the stranded king in New World, alongside his son Patrick.
The episodes everyone talks about
PAC-MAN: Circle broke the internet on arrival — a brutal, body-horror reimagining of the family-friendly arcade icon, made as a prelude to the Shadow Labyrinth game. It’s the boldest swing of the season: proof the show isn’t here to play it safe with nostalgia.
Warhammer 40,000 is the fan favorite and the highest-rated episode on IMDb (8.7) — pure grimdark spectacle that understands exactly what 40K fans want. Armored Core delivers the Keanu-fronted mech action the trailer promised. And Concord carries a strange poignancy: the episode outlived the game itself, which Sony cancelled shortly after its disastrous launch.
Reception and what’s next
Critics were split — some found certain episodes thin — but audiences disagreed loudly: 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, roughly 1.4 million US viewers in the first week, and a Season 2 renewal announced the very week the finale dropped. Nearly two years on, the universe is expanding: a Warhammer 40,000 spin-off series is reportedly in the works with Henry Cavill attached as executive producer.
Secret Level is streaming exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. If you grew up inside these worlds, this is the closest thing to stepping back into them — except this time, someone built you a cinema.
