White Sox-Yanks PPD Friday; doubleheader Sunday – MLB.com

The New York Yankees have announced that Friday’s Yankees-White Sox game will not be played due to the forecast of sustained inclement weather.

The game will be made up on Sunday, May 22, as the first game of a single-admission doubleheader, which will begin at 3:05 p.m. ET. The second game will start no earlier than 7:05 p.m. ET. If the first game ends later than 6:35 p.m. ET, Game 2 would start approximately 30 minutes after the end of Game 1.

The Yankees announced that Nestor Cortes Jr. will start Saturday’s game, and the club’s pitching plan for Sunday’s twin bill is TBD.

Tickets for tonight’s game (Friday, May 20) will not be valid for the Sunday, May 22, single-admission doubleheader.

On Sunday, all Yankee Stadium Gates will open to fans with valid tickets at 2:00 p.m. ET.

Please note that the distribution of Friday’s “Andy Pettitte Bobblehead presented by Delta Air Lines” (for the first 18,000 Guests) has been rescheduled for Friday, June 10 at 7:05 p.m. ET, when the Yankees take on the Chicago Cubs.

Fans with paid tickets for tonight’s game (Friday, May 20) may exchange them for tickets to a similar regular-season game at Yankee Stadium (subject to availability) — including the rescheduled June 10 promotional date — as described in the Yankees’ rain check policy, which may be found at www.yankees.com/raincheck

The first game of Sunday’s doubleheader vs. the White Sox will be broadcast by Prime Video, and the second game will be broadcast by ESPN.

Complimentary (COMP) tickets and tickets obtained via the Commissioner’s Initiative for Kids for tonight’s game (Friday, May 20) are not valid for any future games. COMP tickets or equivalent tickets bear no cash value and do not have any additional benefits that may be offered to ticket(s) with a dollar value.
