NHL Division Alignment for 2020-21 season

The NHL is still making tweaks to its proposed four-division realignment, which includes an all-Canadian division, sources told The Athletic on Thursday.

It is possible that the Wild could be moved to the West Coast division and the Stars move to a new Central division, multiple sources told our Michael Russo.

In an effort to limit travel for the shortened 2020-21 season, the NHL proposed the following division layout on Dec. 9, sources told The Athletic:

• Boston, Buffalo, New Jersey, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington

• Carolina, Columbus, Detroit, Chicago, Florida, Minnesota, Nashville, Tampa Bay

• Anaheim, Arizona, Colorado, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Jose, St. Louis, Vegas
