The Trail Blazers have reached an agreement with free agent forward Derrick Jones Jr. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Jones is set to sign a two-year, $19 million contract with Portland.
According to NBA reporter David Aldridge, the second year of Jones’ contract is a player option.

Jones, a 23-year-old athletic forward, played in 59 regular season games with the Heat last season. In those outings, he averaged 8.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. At the 2020 All-Star Weekend, Jones won the dunk competition
If that reported contract figure is accurate, the Blazers have successfully exercised their mid-level exception to acquire Jones.
