PHILADELPHIA — The Pittsburgh Steelers are acquiring inside linebacker Joe Schobert in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple media reports and confirmed by a Steelers Now
Schobert, 27, is a Wisconsin alum and was a fourth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016. After four seasons in Cleveland, Schobert joined the Jaguars on a five-year, $53.75 million free agent contract.
Steelers Now was unable to immediately confirm what the Steelers are trading to Jacksonville. Schobert’s wife hinted at the transaction on social media.

Schobert started all 16 games in each of the last two seasons and has played in a total of 77 games in his career, with 65 starts. He’s been his team’s primary starter as a middle linebacker in each of the last four seasons.
Schobert has 549 career tackles, 21 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, nine forced fumbles and nine interceptions. He was a Pro Bowl selection after his second season in 2017, during which he was the NFL co-leader in tackles with 144.
The Steelers have to replace longtime starting inside linebacker Vince Williams, who retired in June. Robert Spillane has started the team’s first two preseason games, including Thursday alongside Devin Bush.
