The Texas A&M Aggies visit the South Carolina Gamecocks in week 10 SEC college football action from Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia on Saturday night.
The Texas A&M Aggies will look to build on their 4-1 mark after a 42-31 win over Arkansas last time out. Kellen Mond has thrown for 1,244 yards, 12 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 64.7% passing while Isaiah Spiller leads the Aggies in rushing with 512 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns. Ainias Smith has 186 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns while leading the Aggies in receiving with 290 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns. Jalen Wydermyer and Chase Lane each have 250+ receiving yards and 2 touchdowns for A&M while Caleb Chapman has 14 catches for 197 yards and 3 scores this season. Defensively, Buddy Johnson leads the Aggies with 54 total tackles including a team-high 24 solo tackles and a pair of sacks while Micheal Clemons has a team-high 4 sacks this season.
The South Carolina Gamecocks will try to get back to .500 after falling to 2-3 on the year with a 52-24 loss to LSU last time out. Collin Hill has thrown for 1,076 yards, 5 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 61.5% passing while Kevin Harris leads South Carolina with 535 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns and Deshaun Fenwick has 208 rushing yards this season. Shi Smith leads the Gamecocks’ receiving group with 36 grabs for 415 yards and 3 TDs while Nick Muse has 202 receiving yards and Xavier Legette and Keveon Mullins each have 100+ receiving yards this season. Defensively, Ernest Jones leads the Gamecocks with 55 total tackles including 29 solo tackles while Kingsley Enagbare has a team-high 4 sacks and Keir Thomas has 3 sacks and Jaycee Horn has a pair of interceptions for South Carolina this season.
Texas A&M is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games as a road favorite. South Carolina is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
I get why A&M would be favored here as they’re 6-0 against South Carolina since A&M joined the SEC a few years ago. However, this is still a South Carolina team that battles hard and plays their best football at home. The Gamecocks are also 3-1-1 ATS this season and Texas A&M plays in a lot of close games that ought to be a lot further apart than how they play out. I’ll take the points with South Carolina at home in this one.
