Rivian is looking to launch a new accessory for its suite of camping items for the R1T and R1S, this time including a fold-out induction stove setup that’s priced at $1,400.
During an event at the Rivian Space in Pasadena, California over the weekend, employees told X user Sean O’Rourke that the electric vehicle (EV) maker would be launching the “Travel Kitchen” by the end of this month. The accessory includes a fold-out induction stove with two burners, a built-in drawer and a cutting board.
During the event, which was also attended by X user BLKMDL3, Rivian employees were cooking pancakes on the accessory, which attaches directly to the tailgate of the vehicles. Purchase also includes a travel case that the stovetops can be stored in when not in use.
The Travel Kitchen is powered by the truck bed power outlet, and it’s also missing a sink that was initially shown with the accessory upon being unveiled. At $1,400, some commented that the Travel Kitchen is a bit too pricey for their tastes, but it’s hard to deny that Rivian has working hard on outdoor products in keeping with its general adventure theme.
Rivian also offers a few other camping products in its online gear shop, including a three-person tent that’s mounted to the top of the R1S.
As another part of its general outdoor theme, Rivian also debuted its first Charging Outpost outside of Yosemite National Park, featuring an indoor space with snacks, water, coffee, a play area, and a handful of educational activities for children. The EV maker says it plans to launch more Charging Outposts near national parks in the future.
Rivian has also been rolling out charging stations, dubbed the Rivian Adventure Network (RAN), which the company recently announced will open to other EV brands, following suit with Tesla’s Supercharger network.
Rivian R2 will equip important charging port feature for Tesla Supercharger compatibility
