It is quite easy to apply for a privileged membership card and it is free of cost. After you get your membership card you can earn and buy Avios to get access to exclusive rewards and benefits. Avios are the reward points that you earn on paying for a ticket for Qatar Airways or any of the member companies under OneWorld. You can also buy Avios against US dollars but that’s totally up to you. You can also share and transfer Avios to other accounts. Avios have a validity of 36 months (except for the Platinum card you can enjoy Avios without any expiry).
To ensure that you get the most out of your membership card, Qatar Airways has come up with an amazing program whereby you can share your benefits with family members and earn Avios while they travel or buy services from OneWorld alliance companies. This program offers you to nominate 9 family members including your spouse, kids (above 2 years), your parents, and your spouse’s parents. The program allows you to pool in Avios when any of your nominated family member travel by Qatar Airways (or any other Airline or non-airline service from the OneWorld alliance). The membership cards are offered in terms of four tiers namely (from lowest to highest tier):
