Manchester United welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford as they look to build on an impressive run of recent results and continue their rivals’ difficulties away to the rest of the big six.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United beat RB Leipzig 5-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday, 24 hours before Arsenal’s 3-0 home win over Dundalk. Mikel Arteta’s side won on the last two occasions these two sides met, Nicolas Pepe and Sokratis Papstathopoulos scoring in a 2-0 victory.
However, Arsenal have not won at Old Trafford since September 2006 and have not left the home ground of one of their “Big Six” rivals since beating Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad in January 2015. A win for the Gunners would take them level with fifth-placed Chelsea on 12 points, while United could hit the 10 point mark with a game in hand on most other teams in the division.
