Lucid launches Air sedan leases in Canada for the first time

Electric vehicle (EV) maker Lucid Motors has launched leasing options for its Air sedan in Canada, as announced by the company this week.

On Tuesday, Lucid announced that it is now offering leases on the Air sedan in Canada, as shared in a post on multiple social media platforms. The Lucid Air has been available to lease in the U.S. since its launch, and the news comes as the EV maker prepares to start production of its second EV and first SUV, the Gravity.

In the announcement, Lucid also noted that prospective buyers can see the Lucid Air at its Studios in Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto.

“Canada, the wait is over,” Lucid wrote in a post on X. “Leasing is now available on the award-winning Lucid Air.”

Lucid’s mid-size ‘Model Y competitor’ slated for late 2026 production

Lucid officially launched the Air sedan in 2020, and leasing has been available in the U.S. since then. The EV manufacturer has also began pre-production for the upcoming Gravity at its AMP-1 factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, and it has been pushing out advertisements about the vehicle throughout much of this year.

Last month, the first pre-production Gravity SUV rolled off the production line, as celebrated by CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson, who hopped in and drove the vehicle off the line. The SUV is expected to launch production versions by the end of this year, though it’s not entirely clear when as of yet.

Lucid is majority-owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), and it recently gained an additional commitment for $1.5 billion from the group. The automaker also established a factory in the country, which plays a role in the assembly of the Lucid Air.

The company also had record quarterly deliveries in Q2, delivering a total of 2,394 vehicles for a 70 percent increase year over year.

Lucid CEO expects Tesla to match Lucid Air’s present efficiency in 2032
