Gamble announced the news on his Twitter account.

“I have a huge opportunity to enter the 2022 NFL Draft,” Gamble wrote. “But after lots of prayer and talking with my parents and loved ones, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal for my last year of eligibility.

“As much as it hurts to leave the University of Florida, I feel this is the best decision for me right now. I look forward to the opportunities ahead but I will always be a Florida Gator.”

Gamble started every game for Florida as a senior, finishing third on the team in receiving with 31 catches for 414 yards and a team-leading four touchdowns. He averaged 13.5 yards per reception.

The veteran played through some extremely trying circumstances, outlined in a terrific piece by Graham Hall of the Gainesville Sun.

In four years at Florida, Gamble racked up 48 catches for 632 yards and seven touchdowns.

“It’s been a blessing to attend the University of Florida to play football and receive a degree from this special place,” Gamble said in his farewell note. “I want to thank God for giving me the strength to overcome the obstacles that I have experienced during the past 4 years.

“In addition, I could not have done this without the courage of my parents Keiva, Charles (Peto) and Jerome. I’d also like to thank Mr. Taft and David Cooney, who taught me to see the brighter side of life. Finally, I would like to thank coach (Dan) Mullen, coach (Larry) Scott and coach (Tim) Brewster for helping make me a better player and man. Also, Paul (Silvestri) and the training staff for keeping me healthy throughout my years here.”
