Following a recent meeting with Argentine President Javier Milei, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk noted that his companies are looking to invest in Argentina. Musk’s update was shared as a response to a post on social media platform X.
Milei and Musk recently met in New York, where the two leaders reportedly discussed a variety of topics, from tax incentives, efforts to boost investments in Argentina, and the South American nation’s path to normality, as per Argentine presidential spokesperson Manuel Adorni.
Videos of the two leaders’ meetup were widely shared online, so it was no surprise that some social media users argued that Argentina is better than other South American countries. Musk responded to one of these posts, stating that his companies are actually looking for ways to support Argentina.

“My companies are actively looking for ways to invest in and support Argentina,” Musk wrote in his response. Musk’s post prompted a response from the Argentine President, who wrote “FENÓMENO BARRIAL, VIVA LA LIBERTAD CARAJO” in a reply.
Argentina could very well be a worthy investment for Musk. As noted in a Reuters report, Argentina is the world’s fourth-largest producer of lithium, a key component of electric vehicle batteries.

Musk and Milei have always gotten along, and this was evident in their recent meeting. The atmosphere seemed light when the two leaders met, with the Argentine President laughing as the CEO pointed to his “Make America Great Again” hat.
The Tesla CEO and Argentine President had previously connected on the sidelines of the 27th annual Milken Institute Global Conference back in May. At the time, Musk seemed very supportive of the official, noting on X that “I recommend investing in Argentina.”

Milei also visited Tesla’s headquarters in Austin, Texas in April. Following their meeting, a spokesperson for the Argentine president noted that Musk and Milei “agreed on the need to free markets and defend the ideas of freedom,” as well as the importance of eliminating bureaucratic obstacles to business, as noted in a DW report.
