Easing of Japan Visa restrictions postive news for rally fans

Friday | 14 Oct 2022

Travelling to Japan for the concluding round of the 2022 WRC Calendar has become much easier for fans, following the easing of Covid-19 Japanese border control restrictions on 11 October.

The news was eagerly welcomed by the organisers of FORUM8 Rally Japan, which will run from 10-13 November, after the previous two editions were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans wishing to attend the rally will no longer need to apply for any additional visas to those which they may otherwise require to enter Japan as a tourist.

“This is fantastic news for the organisers and fans alike,” enthused WRC Promoter Events Director Simon Larkin. “We have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes with the organisers to make this event a reality following delays outside of our hands.

“I am sure these latest announcements from the Japanese government will make the event more attractive for foreign fans.

Takamoto Katsuta will be a fan favourite when he competes in the WRC in his home country for the first time
