While Wednesday night’s Contender Series event gave the country a bit of a distraction as the presidential election vote count continues into a second day, it was bound to come up at some point with UFC President Dana White.
Following DWCS Season 4: Week 8 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, White spoke with members of the media to recap the night’s festivities that led to four fighters—Jared Vanderaa, Luis Saldana, Ignacio Bahamondes and Carlos Ulberg—becoming the newest members of the UFC roster.
In addition, White, who has spoken multiple times on incumbent president Donald Trump’s behalf, was asked about democratic nominee Joe Biden’s potential involvement in business operations should he be elected.
“I don’t even think Biden knows who I am,” White stated with a laugh to reporters including The Mac Life. “I don’t think Biden knows who Biden is. I had to do it.
“I don’t think [he’ll come after us] but who knows? I don’t know.”
In more of the local political races, former UFC light heavyweight champion, and sometimes rival of White, Tito Ortiz earned a seat on the Huntington Beach, Calif. city council on Tuesday.
Although White still may not be the biggest fan of “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy,” he still congratulated Ortiz on the beginnings of his political journey.
“Good for him,” White said. “Good for him.”
