Best Advent Calendars 2026: 6 Countdowns to Buy Before They Sell Out

October is the new December for advent calendar shopping. The best advent calendars 2026 lineup launched on September 1, sell-out warnings were already updating by mid-October, and popular countdowns routinely disappear before Thanksgiving. Waiting sounds smart until you do the math: US Black Friday falls on November 27 this year, which leaves only four days before the first door opens on December 1. If a calendar sells out or ships late, the countdown is ruined before it starts.

That is why smart shoppers buy in October, while stock is deep and discounts are still appearing. This guide rounds up six countdowns worth ordering now: five LEGO calendars — Star Wars, Marvel, City, Disney Princess and Friends — plus the perennial foodie sell-out from Bonne Maman. Every pick has 24 doors, December 1 to Christmas Eve.

Building a bigger holiday LEGO list? Our guide to the best LEGO sets to give in 2026 pairs well with any calendar below.

1. LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 (75456)

The Star Wars calendar is the collector’s pick among the best advent calendars 2026, and this year it is fully Mandalorian. Behind the 24 doors are 293 pieces, including The Mandalorian and Grogu in complementary holiday sweaters — his shows Grogu, Grogu’s shows him — plus Moff Gideon, Carson Teva and a Jawa, and brick-built IG-11 and Pit Droid figures.

The mini builds lean into the ships fans want: Mando’s N-1 Starfighter, the Razor Crest, a Sandcrawler, an Imperial Shuttle, an Imperial Light Cruiser and an X-wing, alongside creatures like a Mudhorn, Bantha and Blurrg. Each build takes five to fifteen minutes and joins any existing Star Wars collection once December ends. Rated ages 6 and up.

2. LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026 (76340)

Marvel returns after a year away, and it returns strong. The 76340 calendar holds 317 pieces — the highest count in this year’s LEGO range — with six minifigures: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Ghost-Spider and a comics-inspired Doctor Doom.

The daily builds form a snowy Super Hero street scene: a snowball cannon, a helicopter, a present-wrapping robot, festive vehicles and a mini Helicarrier. Spider-Man arrives on skis and Captain America carries a candy cane alongside his shield — playful, not serious. Rated ages 6 and up, and all the pieces stay useful in a regular Marvel collection after Christmas.

3. LEGO City Advent Calendar 2026 (60510)

City is the calendar for a first-time builder. Rated ages 5 and up — one of only two 2026 calendars for five-year-olds — it is set in Santa’s workshop. The 252 pieces include Santa, Mrs. Claus, three elves and a snowman, plus a brand-new baby reindeer figure that is already the set’s breakout star.

LEGO prints each mini build’s instructions inside its own door, so there is no booklet to lose and a new builder can manage alone. The box folds out into a Santa’s workshop playmat, giving every day’s build somewhere to stand. Expect small vehicles, a rocking horse, a mini train and workshop accessories — about ten pieces a day, exactly right for younger hands.

4. LEGO Disney Princess Advent Calendar 2026 (43298)

The Disney Princess calendar is the most musical of the best advent calendars 2026. Its 290 pieces bring Ariel, Cinderella, Mulan and Moana as micro-dolls, each with an animal companion — Sebastian, Gus, Mushu and Pua — plus a piano, a gingerbread castle and a campfire with a marshmallow.

Its party trick is the box: it converts into a game board for up to eight players, doubling as a family activity on December evenings. Pair it with a pick from our roundup of the best board games of 2026 for a full games-night shelf. Rated ages 5 and up.

5. LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2026 (42698)

Friends shifts outdoors for 2026. The 42698 calendar follows minidolls Liann, Nova and Aliya through winter days out: sleigh rides, snowball fights and hot chocolate by a campfire. The 211 pieces include six mini animals — a seal, a pony, a weasel, a polar bear, a penguin and a bunny — more than any previous Friends calendar.

That animal count is the selling point. For a child who collects creatures more than characters, this is the strongest pick in the LEGO range this year. Accessories include festive hats, gifts, cookies and marshmallows for toasting, all of which fold into regular Friends sets afterwards.

6. Bonne Maman Advent Calendar

Not every countdown needs bricks. The Bonne Maman calendar is the adult gift on this list and a genuine perennial sell-out: 24 mini glass jars of limited-edition spreads, many unavailable in the regular range. The 2026 flavours reported by tasters include strawberry with Madagascar vanilla, fig with cardamom, pineapple with lemon verbena, mango with ylang-ylang, lemon with lavender, and milk caramel with dark chocolate.

Each jar is about an ounce — enough for toast for two or a thumbprint cookie batch — and the empty jars get reused for spices and seedlings long after December. One honest caution: listings for this calendar are updated annually and details can conflict between sellers, so confirm you are ordering the 2026 edition on the product page before you pay. Order early regardless; once it is gone, it is gone until next year.

Buying Guide: How to Choose Among the Best Advent Calendars 2026

Match the franchise first. Star Wars and Marvel suit collectors aged 6 and up who will keep the exclusive holiday minifigures. City and Disney Princess are the only calendars rated 5+, making them the safe picks for younger children. Friends is the animal lover’s calendar, and Bonne Maman is the one for adults, hosts and food lovers.

Know who is missing this year. Honest note: LEGO did not release a Harry Potter or a Minecraft advent calendar for 2026, though both were in the 2025 lineup. If your recipient collects only those themes, a small set from that theme is the better December gift.

Buy for December 1, not for Christmas. A calendar delivered on December 10 has already lost ten days of its value. Order in October, hide the box, and finish the rest of the house at the same time — our guide to the best smart Christmas lights of 2026 is the other purchase that rewards shopping before the rush.

FAQ

When should I buy the best advent calendars 2026?

In October or early November. The first door opens on December 1, popular calendars sell out before Thanksgiving, and Black Friday on November 27 leaves only four days for delivery.

Is there a LEGO Harry Potter or Minecraft advent calendar in 2026?

No. Per LEGO’s 2026 lineup and multiple buying guides, both sat this year out after appearing in 2025. The five 2026 LEGO calendars are Star Wars, Marvel, City, Disney Princess and Friends.

Which advent calendar is best for a 5-year-old?

LEGO City (60510) or LEGO Disney Princess (43298) — the two 2026 calendars rated ages 5 and up. City suits a child who loves Santa and vehicles; Disney Princess suits a minidoll fan.

Why does the Bonne Maman calendar sell out every year?

It is a limited edition with flavours made only for the calendar, in reusable mini glass jars people collect. Supply is fixed for the season, and once stock runs out there is no restock until the following year.

Can I wait for a Black Friday deal instead?

You can, but it is a gamble. Any saving is worthless if the calendar arrives after December 1 or sells out first — and the in-demand picks here are exactly the ones that disappear in November.

Conclusion

The best advent calendars 2026 share one trait: they are all better bought now than later. Pick Star Wars or Marvel for collectors, City or Disney Princess for a five-year-old’s first countdown, Friends for animal lovers, and Bonne Maman for the foodie. Order in October, hide the box, and let December 1 arrive on your terms.
